The JOYO JT480 is a professional rechargeable clip-on tuner designed for fast, accurate tuning across a wide range of stringed instruments, including extended-range guitars and basses. Powered by JOYO's next-generation tuning algorithm, it delivers ±1 cent tuning accuracy, rapid pitch detection and reliable performance even in demanding environments.

Its vibration-detection piezo sensor responds directly to the instrument's vibrations, helping minimise interference from surrounding sound — making it particularly useful for rehearsals, live performances and noisy stages. With Chromatic, Guitar, Bass and Ukulele modes and an ultra-wide 27.5Hz–4186.01Hz detection range, the JT480 supports everything from standard instruments to 4- and 5-string basses and 6-, 7- and 8-string guitars.

A bright full-colour LCD display, 360° rotating swivel, protective silicone clip and lightweight 34g construction make the JT480 easy to use from virtually any viewing angle. The built-in 100mAh rechargeable lithium battery eliminates the need for disposable coin-cell batteries and can be conveniently charged via USB Type-C.

Extended-Range Tuning

The JT480 is designed to handle more than standard guitar and bass tuning. Its 27.5Hz–4186.01Hz detection range provides broad coverage for extended-range instruments, including 4- and 5-string basses and 6-, 7- and 8-string guitars.

Whether you're tuning a conventional instrument or an extended-range setup, the JT480 provides fast pitch detection and ±1 cent accuracy across its wide operating range.

Fast & Accurate Tuning

The JT480 is built around a high-speed tuning algorithm designed to quickly identify pitch and provide accurate tuning feedback. The piezo vibration sensor directly detects the vibration of the instrument, helping the tuner remain responsive even when there is significant ambient noise around you.

Multi-Mode Instrument Support

The JT480 provides four dedicated tuning modes:

• Chromatic — suitable for virtually any stringed instrument
• Guitar — dedicated guitar tuning mode
• Bass — designed for bass guitar, including extended-range basses
• Ukulele — dedicated ukulele tuning mode

Adjustable A4 Calibration

The reference pitch can be adjusted from A4 = 430Hz to 450Hz, allowing the JT480 to accommodate different tuning standards and musical requirements.

A double-click provides a quick reset to the standard A4 = 440Hz reference.

Bright Full-Colour Display

The full-colour LCD screen provides an easy-to-read visual indication of tuning status. The display and tuning pointer respond to the detected pitch, clearly indicating whether the note is:

• Flat
• In Tune
• Sharp

The 360° swivel mechanism allows the display to be positioned for a clear line of sight whether you're sitting, standing or performing on stage.

Secure, Instrument-Friendly Clip

The JT480 features a full-metal clip with silicone anti-slip protection, providing a secure attachment to the instrument while helping prevent scratches or unwanted contact with the headstock.

Rechargeable USB Type-C Battery

The JT480 features a built-in 3.7V 100mAh rechargeable battery that can be conveniently charged via USB Type-C.

A real-time battery indicator lets you monitor the remaining charge, while automatic power-off helps conserve battery life when the tuner is left unused.

For charging, use a suitable charger rated at more than 5V / 0.5A. JOYO recommends charging the tuner while powered off for faster charging.

Compact & Lightweight

At just 34g, the JT480 is light enough for everyday use without adding significant bulk to your instrument. Its compact folded dimensions make it easy to store in a gig bag or instrument case.
